About Us

Welcome to Familee Fields

Welcome to our quirky farm, where the story began with me taking a beekeeping course in 2015.

A journey that began with a beekeeping course has blossomed into a flourishing hub of regenerative agriculture and community connection. But let’s be honest, it all started in 2015 when I decided to take a beekeeping course with the Calgary and District Beekeepers Association. Why, you ask? Well, I was in the throes of Postpartum Depression and realized I needed a new hobby to keep my buzzing brain occupied.

In the spring of 2016, I welcomed my first colony of bees, all the way from the vibrant landscapes of New Zealand. These remarkable creatures became my companions, my mentors, and my muse, guiding me towards a profound realization – my passion for growing food. As I nurtured my bee colonies, I began to explore the wonders of permacultural regenerative farming practices, slowly but surely growing in knowledge and strength.

However, life had its own plans for me, and I faced a series of health challenges that required multiple surgeries. These trials delayed my dream of fully embracing farming until the fall of 2022. But with each hurdle, I grew stronger and more determined. Today, I stand before you, fully recovered and overflowing with excitement and gratitude, ready to embark on this farming adventure, hand in hand with my family.

Now, picture this: I was all set to become a farmer extraordinaire, but life had other plans. I had more surgeries than I have fingers, which delayed my grand farming debut until the fall of 2022. But hey, I’m back, fully recovered, and ready to make the farm scene. Watch out, world!

We believe in the power of food to heal, connect, and nourish both body and soul. Through our own journey of growing food, we’ve come to realize the glaring gap in the market – affordable, wholesome, and locally sourced products for everyday families. It’s disheartening to see the rising costs of groceries, with estimates suggesting that the average family of four will spend $1000 on groceries in 2023.

That’s where we come in. Our mission is simple yet profound – to provide families with affordable, superior-quality products that not only nourish the body but also the bond between consumers and their local farmers. We’re on a mission to bridge the gap, to make you feel closer to the land and the source of your food, to empower you with the knowledge of how your food is grown.

Join us on this incredible journey towards wholesome living, sustainable farming, and community harmony. Together, we’ll sow the seeds of a brighter, healthier future, one harvest at a time. Welcome to our farm, where the roots of our story are deeply intertwined with the soil, and the future is as promising as a sun-kissed field in full bloom. And if you’re wondering, yes, bees were my gateway drug into the wild world of farming!
